Newark - Margaret Colacino, 96, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
Please join the family at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at St. Michael Church, 401 S. Main Street, Newark, NY 14513, for Margaret's Funeral Mass. Burial will follow in Newark Cemetery.
In memory of Margaret, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Laurel House Comfort Care Home, 224 Fair Street, Newark, NY 14513.
Margaret was born on Wednesday, September 4, 1929, in Newark, NY, the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Irene (Colacino) Colacino. She graduated from Newark High School, attended Nazareth College, and earned her master's degree. Margaret dedicated her career to education, serving as the Art Director at Midlakes High School, where she taught for thirty years before retiring in 1986.
A lifelong supporter of Nazareth College, Margaret's love for the arts is memorialized through the Margaret Colacino Art Gallery at Nazareth College.
Margaret cherished her cottage in Lake George and loved spending time on the water. She had a deep appreciation for art and fashion, building collections of both throughout her life. In retirement, Margaret enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Florida.
Margaret will be remembered by her sister-in-law, Kenna Colacino; and her nephews Patrick Colacino and Chad Colacino; her great-newphew, Declan and great-niece, Alina Colacino; several close friends and cousins.
Margaret was predeceased by her brothers, Gene Colacino in 2003 and Tom in 2012; and a nephew, Christian 2021.
