Phelps - Gloria Huling, 84, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St., Newark. Gloria's funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 1 p.m.

Gloria was born on Sunday, July 27, 1941, in Newark, NY, the daughter of the late James and Anna VanKouwenberg DeVoogt. She was raised in Marion and graduated from Marion High School, later attending BOCES where she earned her nursing credentials.
Gloria first worked as a nurse before working alongside her husband in their construction business, building many homes together-including their own. She had a love for gardening and enjoyed spending time working on jigsaw puzzles. Gloria and her husband also opened their home to foster children, caring for more than 51 children over the years. She later retired after more than 30 years as a dedicated school bus driver.
Gloria will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Roy Huling; her children, Matthew (Tammy) Huling, Janet Hoyt, Lynnette (Scott) Kenville, Vicki (David) Strong, and Steven (Courtney) Huling; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Rita Huling; her sister, Cindy (Ralph) Minnick; and many nieces and nephews.
Gloria was predeceased by a son, Andrew, grandson, David Saturley, and her siblings, Diane Delyser and June VerPlank
